Miss Saigon

Miss Saigon was AMAZING! If you ever get the chance to see it, do! It's the story of a Vietnamese girl who falls in love with an American soldier during the Vietnam war and is based on the story of Madame Butterfly. This production was a national tour and usually tours aren't all that great, but this one so was! I want to see it again, and I'm going to order the soundtrack on Amazon. I feel a new obsession coming on....

I did my Duke of Edinburgh assessment expedition this weekend. We walked 33 kilometres in basically a day and a half, and camped overnight. It was fun, although extremely painful and tiring. And now I have several blisters on my feet as souvenirs of the experience. Lovely.

I haven't been updating LCA much because I haven't been seeing very many new films. Typical, isn't it? I make a new blog for movie reviews and then I stop seeing movies. Hopefully I'll go to the cinema next weekend.

I have recently found a clothing company called Howies (www.howies.co.uk). It's really cool and has really nice stuff, although it is very expensive. Anyway, check it out. I love the photography in their catalogue too.

That's all for now.

Quick post

I just about have time for a very quick post before I go out - this evening I;m going out with my dad to see Miss Saigon, and we're having dinner at Pizza Hut first. And we're going in like, two minutes so this will have to be short.

Livi, update your blog!!!!! You are also becoming extremely lax with your posting.

I don't have any movie or TV news. How boring. I do have reading news however - I am reading Checkmate by Malorie Blackman the third part of the Noughts and Crosses trilogy. It's so good! I am about four fifths of the way through and I really want to know what happens in the end! I recommend the trilogy to everyone.

Right, I really have to go. Sorry!

Bye!

Charlotte's Party

I am very sorry about the the recent lack of updates. I have been rather busy, plus I usually only post when I'm at my dad's, and he's been away for like, a week, hence the lack of new posts. While I'm at it, I will also apologise for the lack of reviews on LCA. This is becuase, quite frenkly, I haven't seen any new films this past week, except Wallace and Gromit, so I'll post a review of it when I can.

Yesterday was my friend Charlotte's party and it was tres amusant. The food was yummy (loved the chocolate-coated satsumas!) and her garden is really nice and big with interesting things like tramploines in it. My garden is so boring in comparison. Anyway, we took lots of photos of everyone, some of which made us look quite nice, others made us look very very weird. Claire looked particularly stoned in quite a few.

Onto some TV news (since I have no movie news):

1. I saw the first episode and a half of Big Love on Monday night. It was good, I didn't really get some of it, but it was interesting. I don't know if I'll watch every week, probably just when I feel like it.

2. Only two more episodes of The O.C. this season. No! Oh yeah, check out the cover for the third season dvd boxset: http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B000FIH668.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg. Different to the first two seasons, but really nice.

3. On Wednesday there is a double bill season finale of Desperate Housewives. Should be good. This season has gone SO fast!

4. Neighbours isn't very good at the moment. I stopped watching for a while, then started again, but now I think I'll give it up for a bit again. Becuase I don't really enjoy it, and so what's the point of watching it? The writing is just getting dire.

5. God, I hate the World Cup. I think I am the only person in England who feels this way, but who cares. Even people who don't like football will watch some of it and want us to win. I want us to lose. I am so unpatriotic, it's laughable. I don't know, I've never felt very English or patriotic anyway and I don't give a crap about football, so why should I care if we win or not? I'm not sure why I'm so bitter, but I seem to keep going 'urgh' everytime I see someone with England flags on their car. I'm so horrible!
(I hope I now don't get a load of spam disisng me for saying this. But come on, I hate to break it to you, but sport isn't the most important thing in the world. It's a GAME.)

After that little rant, I will go because my lunch is ready.

Before my French Oral exam

There's good news and bad news:
The good news is that it is the last day of exams! Yippee!!!!
The bad news is that I still have my French orals to do, in like, an hour. EEEEK!!!

I still need to go over my answers a bit more, which is why this will be a short post.

1. I will hopefully be watching Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit sometime this weekend. If so, I will post a review on LCA as soon as I can.

2. So the baby wasn't Ryan's after all. Hmm. It had light brown hair though! How could it be Theresa and Eddie's? They both have, like, black hair. Weird. The writers just wanted to tie up that storyline neatly. There's so much they could have done with it though. Oh well. Oh yeah, and Anna is back! She looks cool with long hair.

3. Wow, my stomach is actually hurting with nervousness (is that a word?). Why am I getting so stressed out about this? (By the way, I'm talking about my French orals, not The OC. I may be lame, but I'm not THAT lame.) I'm going to log off now and revise to make me feel better (or not, as the case may be).

Bye!

Livi's blog

Bonjour mes amies!

Greek is finally over, now only French, English, Physics and Drama to go!

So, what's new?

1. I went camping with Claire on Friday and Saturday. It was very fun, we went bodyboarding in the sea and cooked kebabs on tent pegs 'cause we didn't have skewers! Amazing weather, too.

2. I have been really busy since I last posted so I haven't seen any new films or anything... I did see Smallville last night. Not quite sure what's going on, it's all very confusing, but the season finale is tonight so hopefully it will all be explained.

3. Tonight I'm having dinner with my dad and the editor of the BBC music magazine who wants to do an article on my dad's music foundation thingy. That's not actually very interesting, but I don't really have anything else to say.

4. Check out Livi's blog at - www.cheeruphoneypies.blogspot.com
